Professor Jag Dhanda is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial / Head & Neck Surgeon with extensive experience in complex reconstructive surgery and wound management. As Course Director, he brings a surgeon-led approach to cadaveric wound management training, combining anatomical precision with practical, hands-on techniques. His expertise in head & neck reconstruction informs a deep understanding of tissue handling, vessel and nerve identification, and the layered anatomy critical to effective wound care.

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon · Co-Course Faculty

Mr Ruban Kannan is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with a specialist interest in wound healing, skin grafting, flap reconstruction and advanced tissue viability techniques. As Co-Course Faculty, he supports the hands-on cadaveric stations, sharing his expertise in soft-tissue handling, graft harvest and fixation, and the reconstructive ladder applied to complex wound management.

Riya Roy

Riya Roy

Trust Tissue Viability Nurse · Trust Educational Lead for Nursing & AHPs · Course Faculty

Riya is a Trust Tissue Viability Nurse and the Trust Educational Lead for Nursing and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). With a BSc in Nursing and a PgCert in Leading Practice Education, she brings a strong clinical and educational foundation to the course. Riya supports the tissue viability and wound care stations, sharing her expertise in pressure injury prevention, wound assessment and evidence-based dressing selection, while helping translate cadaveric surgical techniques into practical nursing and AHP practice.

Jacqui Fletcher OBE

Jacqui Fletcher OBE

Clinical Lead Tissue Viability, NHS England · Independent Wound Care Consultant · Course Faculty

Jacqui Fletcher OBE is currently Clinical Lead Tissue Viability at NHS England, and an Independent Wound Care Consultant and Editor of Wounds UK journal. Prior to this, she was Clinical Strategy Director at the Welsh Wound Innovation Centre and held an honorary clinical contract at Cardiff and Vale UHB, and was an Honorary Fellow of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) from 2011–2014. She previously worked for Midlands and East Strategic Health Authority as Harm Free Care Lead, focusing on the ambition to eliminate all avoidable category 2, 3 and 4 pressure ulcers, and as a Principal Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire leading an MSc and BSc in Tissue Viability and an MSc in Evidence Based Practice; she remains an honorary tutor at Cardiff University. She served as an Executive of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel from its inception in 1996 until 2010 and was instrumental in developing the 2009 guidelines as a working group lead. She has published widely and speaks at both national and international conferences.

Christine Chin

Medical Student · Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry · Course Lead

Christine Chin is a medical student at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. She was the Chair of the novel Women in Surgery branch of VRiMS in 2025/26 and is now the Co-Vice Chair of the VRiMS surgical society. As Course Lead, her main role was to build and develop the course app, working alongside the faculty to design the digital learning experience that supports delegates before, during and after the workshop.

  • Strict no photography policy in the anatomy lab
  • Mobile phones must be silenced and put away
